DPMNE Protest March in Kicevo

Opposition VMRO-DPMNE held a protest march in Kicevo against the government. VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said the name agreement was undermining the Macedonian national identity. Moreover, he noted it was not up to him to tell the people how to vote. He criticized the incumbents of working for their own interests instead of the national ones. However, there is still no clear position whether the party calls for boycott of the referendum or vote in favour or against. The protest of the opposition is part of the so called working summer of VMRO-DPMNE. Saturday Mickoski had a meeting with leaders of political parties who are part of the ‘Coalition for Better Macedonia’. Main topic of discussion was the referendum and party positions. The stand was prevalent that the agreement is sign of capitulation and causes long-term damages.
