The State Election Commission (SEC) has confirmed that total 666,743 citizens voted at the referendum which accounts for 36.91 % of the registered voters. The institution that organized the referendum noted that all records had been processed and the referendum question was affirmatively answered by 609,813 voters – 91.46 %, whereas 37,700 voters – 5.65 % were against. 19,221 votes, i.e. 2.89 % were invalid ballots. The latest results also include the vote of the Diaspora. SEC President Oliver Derkovski said the decision had not been made as the census for over 50 % of voters to come out and vote had not been met. He emphasized the referendum proceeded in a good atmosphere, whereas all attempts for incidents and violation of the order are to be investigated and sanctioned in cooperation with competent bodies.
