Criminal Court determines 30-day Detention for Gruevski in “Thaler” case

The Criminal Court decided to adopt the request of the Special Public Prosecution (SPO) and determined a measure of 30 days of detention for the former PM of Macedonia Nikola Gruevski in the case “Thaler”. This decision follows the decision of the Parliament of Macedonia to strip Gruevski from his MP immunity. The defence of Gruevski has the right to file appeals to this decision no later than 24 hours after it was adopted. Gruevski is currently in Hungary, after the Hungarian government granted him political asylum, after he fled Macedonia to avoid serving a prison sentence of 2 years for the “Tank” case.
