Trial over Target-Fortress case Postponed for 29 January

The trial over the Target-Fortress case, opened by the Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPO), was postponed for 29 January upon a request from former UBK head Saso Mijalkov’s lawyer, Ljupco Svrgovski. The lawyer requested the postponement because of the testimony of the SPO’s witness, Gjoko Lazarevski, because it contains professional terms, while the defence, during cross-examination, isn’t able to ask him questions. Because of that, it wants to use a technical adviser from an information field that would help it ask questions, with the goal being efficient legal protection. The SPO described the request as unfounded and added that it aimed to stall the procedure.
