Macedonia and Greece can be Honest friends, PM Zaev tells Greek newspaper

In an interview with Efimerida ton Syntakton, PM Zoran Zaev said Macedonia and Greece can be honest friends. According to him, the Prespa Agreement cannot be changed in the future. “The process is irreversible,” he told the Greek newspaper. Though Zaev hopes the solution will be approved by parliamentarians in the two countries, he is nonetheless concerned about the ratification in the Greek Parliament. Asked about the Russian reaction, the PM said that Macedonia was a small but friendly country that wanted to strengthen relations with Russia. However, he explained that over 80% of citizens supported the Euro-Atlantic integration process. Commenting on the interview, the Cabinet of Greek PM Alexis Tsipras said it had busted all arguments of New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis against the name deal.
