The Head of the Macedonian technical team for negotiations with the EU Bojan Maricic says in interview for MIA that the European Commission (EC) has to be aware of the importance of a segment of the Prespa Agreement connected with the start of membership negotiations with the EU. “Since the beginning of the year we passed three chapters of the negotiation protocols, and till the end of the year we are to pass another 29 chapters, of which 21 in the first half of 2019. Our negotiation structures are almost complete, and we hope that we get a green light from the EC in June 2019 to start negotiations with the EU for becoming a member-state, because if this does not happen, it may as well jeopardize the implementation of the Prespa Agreement,” Maricic says.
