NATO Flag hoisted in front of Government Building

A special ceremony for raising of the flag of NATO in front of the building of the Government of Macedonia, attended by numerous politicians and diplomats, took place on Tuesday in Skopje. At the ceremony, PM Zoran Zaev addressed the guests, as well as all citizens of Macedonia. “Today we are raising the NATO flag, which will set the course of our future in Europe. And not only our future, but that of the next generation. This is not a mere symbol, but reality, and a new page in our history. From the Balkan back road we were waiting on for decades, we’ve made it onto the main highway to Europe. The citizens are about to witness some of the most important events since the country gained independence. We must not be taken by euphoria, but instead should be motivated to work even harder on reforms, so that we can celebrate like this the day when Macedonia starts processes for accession in the EU as well,” Zaev said.
