Slovenia ratifies Protocol for Macedonia’s Integration in NATO

The Slovenian Parliament ratified on Tuesday the Protocol for Accession of Macedonia in NATO, making Slovenia the first country after Greece to ratify the Protocol. The Speaker of the Macedonia Parliament Talat Xhaferi attended the session in Ljubljana, and had his own address at the Parliament of Slovenia. He thanked on behalf of the Parliament and the citizens of Macedonia, noting that this act affirms the friendly and principled attitude towards the citizens of our country. “It has been shown once again that there are no open issues and problems between the two countries. The two parliaments in the past three decades established intensive bilateral relations at the level of speakers and at the level of parliamentary working bodies, commissions and administration, as well as realisation of numerous twinning projects. I hope that by the end of this year all national Parliaments of the 29 NATO member states will ratify the Protocol,” Xhafeir said. The next country to ratify the Protocol is Albania, with the parliamentary session scheduled for Thursday. PS Xhaferi is expected to attend and address this session in Tirana too.
