“Parliament will be held responsible if suspects Trajko Veljanoski and Ljupco Dimovski potentially escape,” the Criminal Court said on Wednesday in response to PS Talat Xhaferi’s comments. The PS had previously said the Court would be responsible in such a situation. As the Court added, it was prevented from deciding on the detention measure for the two MPs because of the Parliament’s failure to make decisions. The institution described Xhaferi’s statements as unacceptable. “If the Prosecutor’s Office files a new proposal due to new or changed circumstances, the Court will immediately contact Parliament and if it gets a decision from it in a timely fashion, it will act immediately,” it was added in the press-release.
