Trust case: Court of Appeals partially Accepts first-instance Court’s verdicts

On Monday, the Court of Appeals in Skopje partially accepted the verdicts from the first-instance court in the Trust case, opened by the Special Prosecutor’s Office, which concerns an ELEM tender worth 17.3 million euros. Defendant Sead Kocan’s six-year prison sentence was reduced to four years and eight months, while defendant Vasilije Avirovic received a two-year suspended sentence, that is, he will not be imprisoned if he doesn’t commit a new crime in the five-year period after the verdict becomes effective. Kocan and Avirovic were found guilty in July of last year. The court process lasted exactly eight months and had more than 20 hearings.
