“Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of North Macedonia – MANU” will be the new name of the highest scientific institution in Macedonia. 24 academics voted in favour of this proposal, four were against, while two abstained. Academic Taki Fiti said that the negotiations had lasted six months. The decision has been met with understanding by both the Macedonian Government and the Greek side. The final decision on the name change will need to be made by the former, respecting the determined proposal of the majority of the Academy’s 40 members.
