Mitsotakis: New Democracy will respect Prespa Agreement

The leader of the Greek opposition party New Democarcy Kyriakos Mitsotakis says in an interview for Reuters that his party will respect the Prespa Agreement. “New Democracy will respect the Prespa Agreement but work to improve aspects or consequences of the agreement that are currently not in Greek interest. No one should expect Greece to agree to open and close EU accession chapters when there are still outstanding issues which have not been addressed by the agreement. We fully retain the right to block this process if we think that our national interests are not met,” Mitsotakis said for Reuters. In meantime, the Government of Macedonia informed that with the Government of Greece they have signed an Action Plan for Implementation of the Prespa Agreement during the recent visit of Greek PM Alexis Tsipras to Skopje.
