West Balkan NGOs ask EU to start Membership Negotiations with Macedonia

Over 80 NGOs from the West Balkans addressed a petition to the President of the Council of Europe (CE) Donald Tusk asking the EU to not delay the start of membership negotiations with Macedonia and Albania. “We express concern that the delay of the membership negotiations may negatively affect the aspirations of the citizens of these two countries when it comes to EU, and thus discourage politicians in the pursuit of EU membership. We hope that the CE will do all in its power for the EU to start the negotiations with North Macedonia and Albania,” writes the petition signed by 85 NGOs, among which the European Movement of Montenegro and North Macedonia, the Open Society Foundation in Serbia and Albania, the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy etc.
