PM Zaev attends EU, West Balkans Summit in Berlin

The PM Zoran Zaev attends in Berlin the informal summit of the EU and the West Balkans, where he met German Chancellor Angela Merkel, with whom he discussed the Prespa Agreement and Macedonia’s integration in the EU. “The cooperation, friendship and reforms our government implements stand as serious and positive arguments for the EU to determine date for start of the membership negotiations with North Macedonia this June,” Zaev told Merkel, who gave positive remarks for the agreements Macedonia concluded with Greece and Bulgaria in order to terminate all open bilateral disputes with these countries. At the summit Zaev also met EU’s High Representative for Security and Foreign Policy Federica Mogherini, who evaluated the Prespa Agreement as a positive impulse Macedonia emits in the entire Balkan region. Zaev pointed out that the well-conducted election is just one more argument for EU to start the membership negotiations with Macedonia.
