Siljanovska Davkova: Pendarovski won, but I and VMRO-DPMNE didn’t lose

The presidential candidate of VMRO-DPMNE Gordana Siljanovska Davkova held a press conference after the presentation of the results of the 2nd round of the 2019 presidential election, which was won by SDSM candidate Stevo Pendarovski. “I feel strange. Pendarovski won the election, but that does not mean that I and VMRO-DPMNE lost. The election day for me passed like Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons”, and I hoped it will end with spring, because with such great support by all of you I fear no winter. Winning over 370,000 votes of the citizens, and being recognised in streets and warmly greeted by many is already a great victory for me,” Siljanovska Davkova said. Shortly after her, the leader of VMRO-DPMNE Hristijan Mickoski also addressed the public. “Pendarovski says to listen to the supreme commander, but I say listen to the people. The candidate of VMRO-DPMNE won the support of the citizens in greater number of municipalities, unlike the candidate of SDSM. VMRO-DPMNE realised an excellent result and remains the most supported and greatest political party in Macedonia. Had this been a parliamentary election, VMRO-DPMNE would’ve won. They laughed at us, they offended us, they oppressed us, but we kept on working, because VMRO-DPMNE is the root of the Macedonian citizens,” Mickoski said.
