Panel on West Balkans’ integration in EU held in Skopje

A panel discussion titled “West Balkans and Euro-Atlantic Values” was held in Skopje on Wednesday, as part of the activities for observation of the Day of Europe (9 May) in Macedonia. The panel was attended by political experts from the country and abroad, and was chaired by Vice-PM for European Affairs Bujar Osmani. “North Macedonia is the positive example from the West Balkans when it comes to the processes for integration in the EU. We are now entering the last 20 days before the EC publishes its report on our country’s progress in the EU integration processes, and we expect a positive report which will produce a date for start of the membership talk for Macedonia this June. In the days to come, we shall invest our full political, social and state energy so that no argument against start of membership talks with North Macedonia is left,” Osmani said. The representative of the Forum for Inter-ethnic Relations in Serbia Dusan Janic underlined that despite some minor incidents, Macedonia never faced a deep security crisis and that whenever it faced challenges and they were resolved in the most positive way possible.
