Solution to SPO cases Issue should be Sought in judiciary, Says Janeva

On Tuesday, Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva stated that the solution to the issue of cases run by the Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) should be sought in the judiciary. According to her, the SPO is just a prosecution organ, while there are cases at courts that were handed around two years ago and are still without a verdict. “The blame for those matters should be sought in the courts,” she said. Her mandate expires on 15 September, but if a new law is adopted now, she added that the mandate wouldn’t expire. If there is a re-election process, Janeva will once again apply because, as she stressed, she deserves the position.
