French Ambassador Christian Thimonier paid a visit to Gostivar, where he attended a Francophonie event and met Mayor Arben Taravari. At the meeting, Taravari and the Ambassador talked about improving the cooperation. Answering a journalist’s question about Macedonia’s road to the EU, Thimonier said it wasn’t just political marketing. “A start of negotiations will be good also for us, the Western countries’ Ambassadors. We wish for the pre-accession negotiations to be opened. However, the country should really be ready for that. So, it will not be a gift, it should be a deserved gift in your hands,” the Ambassador pointed out.
