NATO Sec Gen Stoltenberg arrives in Macedonia

The Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg, joined by the NATO Ambassadors of all 29 member-states of the Alliance, arrived to Macedonia on Sunday afternoon, starting his two-day official visit to the country. On this occasion, the Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi organised a special reception in the Parliament, which was attended by the PM Zoran Zaev. Stoltenberg congratulated to Zaev and Xhaferi on the successes achieved by Macedonia in the processes for Euro-Atlantic integration so far, praising the courage of the government for the resolution of the name issue with Greece. “Our Alliance keeps the security of people, but it also pledges for respect of our main principles – freedom, democracy and rule of law. I can hardly wait to witness the accession of North Macedonia in NATO and see your flag among those of the other member-states in front of our headquarters in Brussels,” Stoltenberg said. The NATO Sec Gen and the NATO Ambassadors will have official meetings in the Macedonian government on Monday.
