On his official Facebook page on Saturday, Albanian President Edi Rama reacted to Macedonian counterpart Stevo Pendarovski’s statement that decoupling Macedonia and Albania’s EU path, “by giving the green light to the former and holding the start of accession talks for the latter is not great, but is the only way forward”. According to Rama, this stand is astonishing. In that regard, he reiterated “the key contribution of Albania and Albanians in the democratic processes” in its western neighbour. The Albanian President considers this demand to be neither just nor practical. Pendarovski had made the statement for EURACTIV during the visit to Brussels.
