Norwegian FM Søreide visits Macedonia

The Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ine Marie Eriksen Søreide paid an official visit to Macedonia on Wednesday. In Skopje, Søreide held meetings with the PM Zoran Zaev, FM Nikola Dimitrov and Vice-PM for European Affairs Bujar Osmani. “We are grateful for the great support the Kingdom of Norway provides North Macedonia in the processes integration in NATO. We demonstrated courage and determination to resolve bilateral disputes with our neighbours, and now we are following the road towards NATO and EU quite certain of our achievements and successes,” PM Zaev told Søreide, with whom he spoke about the cooperation between Macedonia and Norway in fields like economy, environment etc. Søreide also met the FM Dimitrov, who thanked her for the ratification of the NATO Protocol for Accession of Macedonia. “During my latest visit of Norway, we signed an agreement for improvement of the bilateral cooperation. We thank you for your great support,” Dimitrov told Søreide. Vice-PM Osmani, at his meeting with Søreide, thanked Norway for the support for the integration of Macedonia in the EU. “Norway is not a EU member-state, but still it remains great supporter of our European integration. We are glad to have a partner like you for cooperation in numerous fields,” Osmani told Søreide.
