At Tuesday’s hearing over the Lawn case, the Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPO), in its closing arguments, urged the Court to find journalist Dragan Pavlovic Latas and his brother guilty of illicit construction of houses in Zelenikovo. Also, it asked the institution to take away their houses. As the SPO added, the issue debated in the case is when the defendants started to realise their wish to build the houses. According to the institution headed by Katica Janeva, the evidence shows that had taken place long before they received construction permits. The SPO considers that the defendants’ “crimes were premeditated” because they were aware that they were building the houses without permits, they were aware of the ban on such activities and they were aware that they could be demolished because they were building them illicitly, but nonetheless continued construction works.
