Bregu: Delay of EU talks with North Macedonia, Albania poses Risk over Region

The further delaying of the start of membership talks between EU and Albania and North Macedonia poses a serious risk over the political situation in the West Balkans, said the Chairwoman of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Majlinda Bregu at the 11th annual meeting of RCC in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. “Any further delays of this decision may destroy all positive moments in a very short period of time. There is no better moment for start of membership negotiations with Albania and North Macedonia than now, having in mind that North Macedonia and Bulgaria will co-president the Berlin Process in the following period. RCC is willing to deal with all challenges, but that cannot be realised without full support from our partners from the region and the EU,” Bregu said.
