The Deputy PM for European Affairs Bujar Osmani demands immediate release from custody of the former member of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) Tomor Morina, who was arrested by Macedonian authorities last week by a search warrant of INTERPOL. “I will send a formal request to INTERPOL today so I can visit Morina in the prison, because it is more than clear that there is no coordination between his lawyer, the demands for his extradition etc. I think it is wrong to keep people imprisoned over a conflict that ended more than 20 years ago. We are doing all in our power to release him, because this event is negatively affecting the bilateral relations between our country and Kosovo,” Osmani said. Serbian authorities demand the extradition of Morina, since according to the INTERPOL warrant against him he is a Serbian citizen, while official Prishtina condemned the actions of the Macedonian authorities and demanded his immediate release.
