Vavritsiotis: Greece cannot block integration of North Macedonia in NATO, EU

The Greek Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis said in an interview for the Greek TV Open that the Prespa Agreement took away from Greece its right to veto Macedonia’s integration in NATO and EU, as well as the UN temporary agreement between the two countries which resulted in Macedonia using the name “Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”. “Even while New Democracy was in opposition in Greece, we stood against the Prespa Agreement. Now it is up to us to do our best to improve it, in order to avoid negative consequences over our country. Now we need to protect our products that have the name “Macedonia in their brands, and to limit its use by our Northern neighbours,” Varvitsiotis said.
