“La Verita” publishes New Recording about “Racketeering” Case

The web site of the Italian newspaper “La Verita” has published a new audio recording related to the “Racketeering” case on Saturday morning.  In the recording the voices of suspect Bojan Jovanovski, businessman Orce Kamcev and Head of the Special Public Prosecution (SPO) Katica Janeva can be heard, with Janeva providing guarantees to Kamcev in relation to the “Empire” case SPO processes against him. “I am too busy this period so I cannot keep Prosecutor Lile Stefanova under control all the time, but I can assure you that she cannot do anything without my permission,” Janeva says in the recording. Stefanova is the SPO Prosecutor who is processing the “Empire” case against Kamcev and several other suspects for financial manipulations. In the recording, Jovanovski is also heard telling Kamcev that he will meet PM Zoran Zaev in relation to Kamcev’s case. The PM Zaev immediately reacted to the recording via his Facebook profile. “In the latest recording published about the “Racketeering” case some of the suspects mention and abuse my name. I deny any connection to this case and to the activities of Bojan Jovanovski in it whatsoever. The only thing I have discussed with Jovanovski is humanitarian activities of his organisation International Alliance. I call upon all judicial authorities to resolve this case as soon as possible. North Macedonia is ready for justice, and everyone shall take responsibility for their criminal activities in legal and transparent judicial procedures,” Zaev writes. From VMRO-DPMNE they demand immediate resignation from PM Zaev and the entire government. “The third recording published on Saturday clearly indicates the involvement of Zaev and Janeva in this case, and the criminal activities people in power try to hide and protect. The only way out of this situation is for the government to resign and snap election should be held as soon as possible,” said VMRO-DPMNE Sec Gen Igor Janusev.
