Thursday, the Czech Parliament ratified Macedonia’s NATO Accession Protocol. PM Zoran Zaev observed the ratification from the gallery. Zaev was in Prague for the Summit of Visegrad Four and Western Balkan countries’ PMs, where Macedonia’s achievements were acknowledged. The Visegrad Four adopted a Statement (which can be found here: https://www.vlada.cz/en/media-centrum/aktualne/v4-statement-on-the-western-balkans-176116/) calling for a date for negotiations to be given in October to Macedonia and Albania. Within the frameworks of his activities in the Czech capital, Zaev met the President of the Parliament’s Chamber of Deputies, Radek Vondracek. The PM said he was convinced that a decision in October for a start of membership negotiations will have positive impact on the whole Western Balkan region.
