FM Dimitrov meets Counterpart Maas in Berlin

During his visit to Berlin, FM Nikola Dimitrov met on Thursday with his German counterpart, Heiko Maas. The German politician congratulated Macedonia’s citizens on, as he said, the fulfilled conditions for a start of EU membership negotiations. “All conditions have been fulfilled for a start of negotiations,” he said. According to Maas, the changes are evident. The German FM stated that bridges would continue to be built between Skopje and Berlin in the future. “It’s clear that North Macedonia belongs in Europe,” Maas stressed. Dimitrov stated that generations had been lost due to political problems and failure to solve the name issue. “We’ve made big steps both in the relations with Greece and Bulgaria, as well as in building a functional liberal democracy, which has been recognised by the European Commission,” Dimitrov noted.
