Greek PM reportedly Presents proposal to distinguish Products

Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis has a proposal to distinguish products coming from his country from those that from the northern neighbour. According to Greek media, his idea is that trademarks coming from the northern neighbour should be branded in the world with the name “Macedonia”, while those from his country should use the name “Makedonia”. Mitsotakis presented this idea before representatives of the Greek Exporters Association at the meeting in Thessaloniki. According to the Association, the Greek PM come up with it after he had googled the word “Macedonia”. Most results lead to the northern neighbour’s name, he concluded, the Association adds. Former PM Alexis Tsipras ridiculed the idea. “How come I never thought of this? Just replace “C” with a “K” and the problem is solved,” he says.
