Ohrid Dialogue: Macedonia’s achievements Praised

The Ohrid Dialogue started officially on Friday with the panel about the next steps that lie ahead for Macedonia. PM Zoran Zaev wished the guests welcome. As the participants in the morning session agreed, they’re there to help so that even bigger progress is achieved as far as the country’s Euro-Atlantic integrations are concerned. “Nearly 20 years ago, it was thought that NATO membership was an impossible mission, with a just finished internal conflict and many divisions in society. Today, North Macedonia is a step away from full-fledged membership and remains committed to implementing EU standards,” it was said in the session. Just two years since the freeing of the state from the previous hybrid regime, the country has resolved problems with neighbours, there’s been improvement of regional cooperation and all indicators have shown an increase of both trade exchange and foreign direct investments, it was concluded at the panel.
