At Monday’s hearing over the Monster case, parts of 2012 communication between DUI leader Ali Ahmeti and then-Deputy Interior Minister Xhelal Bajrami were read. Shortly after the murder, Ahmeti told Bajrami that professionals had committed the murder. As far as the Opel near the border is concerned, he said it had been just an attempt to cause disorientation among investigators. The DUI leader also said that he’d told the PM that “our people” had never executed children, not even during the 2001 conflict. As Ahmeti pointed out, their goal has always been people in uniforms, not civilians. The case concerns the 2012 Smiljkovci killings.
