Council of Ambassadors: EU to Support Euro-aspirations of Candidate Countries

The International Policy Association “Council of Ambassadors” in Monday’s press-release informed that they greet the reaffirmation of the European perspective of the Western Balkan countries in the French non-paper delivered to the member countries of the Union. The Council believes that the enlargement process is not the only thing that makes the Union inefficient and “almost unsuccessful in view of global challenges, such as the global economic crisis, the European defence and security, the fight against world terrorism and the refugee crisis which are imposed on Europe as result of the instability of whole regions throughout the world”. They further add that the commitment by France that the enlargement process in the future needs to go slower and more qualitative has no basis in reality, since not always the processes that last longer are of higher quality because such an approach might bring opposite results.
