Justice Ministry: Decision of Constitutional Court will have No effect

The Ministry of Justice states in an announcement that the decision of the Constitutional Court over the Article 11-a from the Law on Pardoning will have no effect whatsoever. “The Legislative Committee at the Macedonian Parliament concluded on Wednesday that the Article 11 from the Law on Pardoning no longer exists, so even if the Constitutional Court decides to abolish Article 11-a, that decision will have no effect whatsoever, because the article is inexistent already. This only confirms that back in 2016, former President Gjorge Ivanov made an illegal decision to grant abolition to 56 defendants and suspects in the cases processed by the Special Public Prosecution (SPO), and that even his decision to annul the abolition is illegal too,” writes the announcement of the Justice Minsitry.
