The Minister of Federal, European and International Affairs of the German State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Stephan Holthoff paid on Thursday an official visit to Macedonia. Holthoff was welcomed by the Macedonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov, with whom he discussed the processes for integration of Macedonia in the EU. Dimitrov informed his guest about the reformation processes currently implemented in Macedonia, while Holthoff suggested possibilities for improvements over the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and accented that his visit is just another confirmation of the German support for the integration of Macedonia in the EU. Later on Thursday, Holthoff also met the PM Zoran Zaev, to whom he gave messages of support from the PM of Rhine-Westphalia Armin Laschet for the integrative processes of Macedonia. “I thank you for the great and honest friendship demonstrated by Rhine-Westphalia and the entire state of Germany. We are glad that your country is contributing to the improvement of democratic processes and capacities here in North Macedonia,” Zaev told Holthoff. The interlocutors also discussed possibilities for further bilateral cooperation between the two countries in both political and economic terms.
