Extortion case: Janeva’s to Remain under House Arrest

The Court of Appeals has rejected ex-Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva’s appeal to be out on bail in the Extortion case. That means that she will continue to be under house arrest. Judge has Safet Kadriu confirmed the news. The next hearing of the case will take place on 20 January. Janeva has been under house arrest since 19 November 2019. Prior to that, she’d been in detention in the prison in Suto Orizari. Bojan Jovanovski, too, is a defendant in the case. At the first hearing, the third defendant, Zoran Milevski, pled guilty and was sentenced to three years in prison.
