On Wednesday, Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi held a meeting with US Ambassador Kate Marie Byrnes. They discussed the current political situation in Macedonia and the planned dynamism of Parliament’s work in the period until the scheduling of the elections. The need for a legal and fair election process that will further confirm and solidify the democratic capacity of the country was underlined. As far as Macedonia’s NATO road is concerned, the Ambassador said all efforts possible were being made to complete the Protocol ratification process in order for the country to become the 30th member. In that regard, Xhaferi said Macedonia remained a strategic partner of the US.
