Caretaker PM Oliver Spasovski held a meeting on Thursday with German Ambassador Thomas Gerberich. Skopje and Berlin have excellent bilateral relations, they assessed. Spasovski thanked the Ambassador for Germany’s continued support, especially in the field of the efforts to join the EU and NATO. Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi’s visit brought moderate optimism about a positive decision of the Union for a start of negotiations, it was highlighted at the meeting. The caretaker Cabinet, it was also pointed out, will make additional efforts to find political solutions to key legal reforms and focus on organising fair and democratic elections.
