SCPC Presents National Strategy’s Goals and Measures

The State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) will ask institutions to strengthen activities against corruption. With the five-year National Strategy, it will give advice about, among other activities, creating waste management centres as soon as possible, revising urban plans adopted by municipalities, and strengthening controls during public procurements. According to SCPC President Biljana Ivanovska, the realisation of the Strategy’s goals and measures should increase citizens’ trust in the system’s institutions, efficiency when it comes to use of public resources, strengthening of democracy, values in society, and opportunities to exercise human rights. However, SCPC members admit that adopting the document is the easier part because institutional fulfilment of the obligations is always slow.
