SDSM and VMRO-DPMNE Representatives to Hold Meeting over PPO Law

Representatives of SDSM and VMRO-DPMNE, Bojan Maricic and Timco Mucunski, respectively, will hold a meeting on Tuesday to agree new dynamism of talks on the new Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) law, it’s been confirmed by senior sources from the two parties. Despite the idea for a meeting between leaders Zoran Zaev and Hristijan Mickoski, the former said on Monday that he didn’t know whether it would be held considering the stands presented by the former the previous day. However, Zaev is not ruling that possibility out. In addition, the SDSM leader stated that he’d already started negotiations with the eight MPs from the independent group of VMRO-DPMNE aiming at securing of a two-thirds majority for the law, without the opposition. SDSM considers that Hristijan Mickoski is only interested in the party’s property. “Hristijan Mickoski is against justice, against the legal state, and against the unselective rule of law,” MP Betiane Kitev said.
