Spy Case: Criminal Court Frees Five Defendants from Charge

In the frames of the repeated procedure of the Spy case, the Criminal Court has acquitted five defendants. On Tuesday, Mikjo Naskovski was freed from the charge for fraud and blackmail, Marjan Madzovski from the charge for blackmail, Goran Stojkov and Cvetan Damjanovski from the charge for unauthorised keeping and possession of firearms, and Gjorgji Hadzimicev from the charge for use of resources for personal benefit while in service. Due to failure to appear at several hearings and non-submission of medical documentation, the procedure against defendant Marjan Efremov has been separated. According to prosecutors, Efremov was the organiser of the group that used to spy for foreign services and, at the same time, engage in blackmailing, frauds and extortions.
