VMRO-DPMNE Submits Initiative for Parliamentary Dissolution on 12 February

VMRO-DPMNE submitted on Wednesday an initiative for Parliament to be dissolved on 12 February. MPs from Hristijan Mickoski’s party said they would not allow the deadline to be extended. The initiative will most likely be supported by DUI, BESA and Alliance for Albanians, Sitel TV reported. SDSM has left room for an insignificant delay if a deal is reached on two issues, the Electoral Code and the Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) law. The PPO issue was also the topic discussed between French Foreign Ministry representatives and SDSM MPs Betiane Kitev and Ivana Tufegdzic. They were told that attempts were underway for the law to be adopted by consensus. “France’s representatives can tell us what the solution for a way out would be, but they cannot assume the political parties’ role. The responsibility falls to everyone,” Kitev said, adding that though the ruling structure was always more responsible, the opposition was halting the process.
