Spasovski-Palmer: EU Accession Talks Decision Expected Soon

Technical PM, Oliver Spasovski met US Special Envoy to the Western Balkans, Matthew Palmer at the margins of the EBRD’s Western Balkan Investment Summit 2020 in London. Palmer informed PM Spasovski that due to the reforms and their implementation results, positive decision is expected for EU accession talks as a logical step, and because the NATO membership criteria and standards have been fulfilled. According to the Government press-service, the friendship and strategic partnership between US and Macedonia was once more confirmed at the meeting, as well as the country’s leadership in regional cooperation. In that direction, PM Spasovski pointed out that Macedonia remains dedicated in fulfilling the commitments in the Friendship, Good Neighbourliness and Cooperation Treaty with Bulgaria and the Prespa Agreement with Greece, which received recognition that are made in the spirit of European values, and that they are a good example for resolution of bilateral issues in the region, stands in the press-release.
