Two New Coronavirus Cases in Macedonia

Two new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the country, making it a total of 9 patients at the moment, who are hospitalized at the Infectious Disease Clinic. Ten more people have been tested during the day, although their results have come back negative they will remain in home isolation. At the Government session, the measures for prevention of coronavirus spread that applies to all state and private legal entities has been confirmed. Citizens can submit reports for which will follow sanctions under the Criminal Code. The measures exclude health workers, police officers, army members, firefighters, customs, nursing homes and small group homes, however that does not apply both parents in case they pursue these professions. Doctors are prohibited from using paid and unpaid leave during this period. Public sector employees need to sign a statement if the need arises, to work from home or get to work for at least two to three hours. Border control has been tightened and all schools and kindergartens will be disinfected. MoI announced that they will punish spread of misinformation and appeal to the mediums and social network users to recall only to official information by the relevant institutions. The government will meet with the WHO Regional Representative on Thursday to learn how to deal with the declared worldwide pandemic. Citizens with chronic respiratory diseases, severe cardiovascular diseases, type 1 diabetes, malignant diseases and immune-compromising conditions should be released from work in accordance with the Government’s recommendations for the prevention of coronavirus spread. This was confirmed today by the Commission on Infectious Diseases at the Ministry of Health, and presented the conclusions to the Government.
