Spasovski, Sekerinska, Osmani and Dimitrov Hold Press Conference

“The NATO membership is a success for our generation, but also for those past and future,” said PM Oliver Spasovski at the press-conference also attended by Defense Minister Radmila Sekerinska, Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov and Deputy PM for European Affairs Bujar Osmani. The Prime Minister pointed out that this act deserves congratulations and recognition even in these days of serious difficult challenges. After Spain deposits the documents tomorrow, Macedonia will receive notification from the Alliance that we can deposit ours as well, with which we will become the 30th NATO member, explained PM Spasovski. He expressed belief that NATO membership would help achieve the second strategic goal that is the EU membership. Defense Minister Radmila Sekerinska stressed that we had come to the end of a long journey in which generations, politicians and citizens participated. “We became the 30th NATO member, after almost 30 years of waiting. We reached this goal because while others were delaying we decided to work. While they made justifications, we made decisions, we went through a real minefield,” said Sekerinska, and she expressed her special gratitude to the members of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia.
