Trial over Organisation of 27 April 2017 Incidents Continues

At Wednesday’s hearing concerning the organisation the 27 April 2017 storming of Parliament, caretaker PM Oliver Spasovski, who was at that time a member of the opposition, said that he had requested several times during the constitutive session for the next item, election of the Parliament Speaker, to be put on the agenda, which the majority had supported. However, he added that then-Speaker Trajko Veljanoski, who’s among the defendants in the case, hadn’t accepted a change of the agenda. According to Spasovski, considering the proposal was supported by more than 10 MPs, Veljanoski had to put it up for a vote. Veljanoski’s lawyer, Elenko Milanov, stated that Spasovski had confirmed that there hadn’t been consent during the coordination meetings for the then-chair, his client, to make a change of the agenda. The process will continue on Friday, when MP Vesel Memedi will be among the witnesses.
