Angelovska and Janowsky Sign Deal for US Help for Macedonia

Finance Minister Nina Angelovska and USAID Representative Erik Janowsky signed on Thursday a deal with which the US Government has provided 16 million dollars for Macedonia, intended for reduction of corruption, better integration of the young in society, and a higher level of economic competitiveness. As the US Embassy said, the deal provides for support of activities of central and local authorities to use and successfully manage financial resources and implementation of accountability mechanisms, of the work of the State Election Commission to organise free and fair elections and monitor the funding and spending by political parties during the election process, of civil society organisations so that they constructively join public policies and practices for greater accountability and the rule of law, and of the Ministry of Education and Science in order for it to promote interethnic cohesion and civic culture among children and youth.
