Parties may have campaigns with rallies and from door to door, but face masks should be worn, a distance of 1.5 metres should be kept, and there should be frequent disinfection of hands. The Contagious Diseases Commission has drawn up the protocols for the election process, upon a request of the President and party leaders. Public address systems should be used at party gatherings to avoid a bigger concentration of people, while buses carrying members and supporters should be at half capacity. “When there are gatherings, the recommendation is for there to be compliance with all these measures, for attention to be paid to the number of people, and for public address systems to be used in order to avoid a bigger concentration of people in one place,” Health Minister Venko Filipce said on Thursday, commenting on some of the measures. He is adamant that the protocols don’t represent approval for quick elections, that is, he said they’d been prepared upon a request by political factors.
