At a press-conference on Wednesday, caretaker Interior Minister Nakje Culev praised citizens complying with the measures and police officers. “Citizens are responsible. Generally speaking, they complied with the Government’s measures to prevent COVID-19. For 70 days, starting from 22 March, in different periods of the day, they stayed at home. Police officers executed their task with professionalism, responsibility, and sacrifice. They should get the monetary reward they deserve,” he pointed out. In that regard, Culev called on the Government to adopt the regulation to financially reward police officers. As far as protection measures are concerned, the Minister announced strengthened police controls.
