According to SDSM leader Zoran Zaev, the election date is a done deal. “The elections will be held on 5 July,” he said at a press-conference on Monday. The former PM added that the election process should be held as soon as possible in order for there to be functional institutions that would allow for, inter alia, better healthcare protection of citizens. Zaev accused the opposition of having destructive inclinations. DPA shares the stand that the elections should be held on 5 July. On the other hand, VMRO-DPMNE believes it is irresponsible to talk about elections and mention dates in a situation when the number of new coronavirus cases is constantly on the rise. The leader of the party, Hristijan Mickoski, said Zaev was out of touch with reality.
