President Pendarovski Announces New 8-Day State of Emergency

President Stevo Pendarovski Monday night adopted new decision for state of emergency in the country with the aim to secure uninterrupted preparation for the elections. “The political parties reached an agreement for the early Parliamentary elections to be held on 15 July 2020. In that direction, the decision to announce state of emergency was made with the aim to enable uninterrupted preparation for the elections and especially the implementation of the public health protection measures in the time of the election process, in the conditions of an epidemic as proclaimed by WHO,” stood in the press-release. The state of emergency will last 8 days, starting 15 June. With the agreement reached, President Pendarovski expects all institutions to perform their activities and responsibilities in a timely manner with the aim of qualitative and complete preparation and implementation of the election process.
